Mock Crowdfunding
Test interest before committing real funds
How Mock Crowdfunding Works
A mock campaign on Jeekota is for validating ideas and measuring public interest only. If a mock campaign succeeds and moves toward real fundraising, fund collection and management will be subject to oversight by relevant regulatory bodies, the government and approved partner institutions to ensure transparency, accountability, and protection of supporters. In addition, all communications to pledgers through the Pledgers List are routed via Jeekota's Admin system and are subject to review and approval before being published, as a safeguard against misuse or fraudulent intent. Jeekota's role is to help ideas prove their relevance and gather support before any form of financial mobilisation begins.

Founder Idea: JEEPON(JEEKOTA POINT OF NEED)
"What if customers announced their needs... and businesses competed to fulfill them?" Businesses have always advertised what they sell. What if people advertised what they need? That one shift could redefine how millions of people discover products and services. Introducing JEEPON (Jeekota Point of Need) — a bold new marketplace built around demand first, not supply first. "Sometimes the biggest innovations begin by asking a simple question no one else asked." This is not a fundraising campaign. No money is being collected. We're validating this idea before building it or approaching investors. Would you support JEEPON?

Founder Idea: JERRAND(Jeekota Errand)
There are times when you need someone you can trust in another town, city or country, but you don't know anyone there. I'm building JERRAND (Jeekota Errand), a platform that connects individuals, businesses and organisations with trusted local Representatives who can carry out tasks on their behalf. Representatives choose the cities they operate in, define their service area and set their hourly or daily rates. Clients simply search, compare profiles and hire the Representative that best fits their needs. A JERRAND Representative can: Attend a business meeting Inspect a property before purchase Verify a supplier or business Submit or collect official documents Witness an event on your behalf Deliver confidential documents Buy goods from a local market Queue on your behalf Visit a government office Check on a construction project And much more. To build trust, Representatives who wish to handle purchases or collect valuable items can provide a refundable liability commitment or a verified guarantor. Once a job is accepted, the Representative is marked Busy until it is completed. Payment is held securely and released only after the client confirms the job has been done. I am seeking US$250,000 to build JERRAND and create a trusted network of local Representatives that helps people and businesses get things done, wherever they are. Would you support JERRAND as a smarter way for people and businesses to find trusted Representatives anywhere they need them?

National Drone Shield for Nigeria
Imagine a Nigeria where high-risk communities are monitored by solar-powered drone stations operating 24/7. Each station would have three drones working in rotation. As one drone returns to recharge, another takes off immediately, ensuring continuous aerial surveillance without gaps. A pilot project could deploy 100 drone stations (300 drones) across selected high-risk corridors, supporting security agencies with early warning, search and rescue, disaster response, infrastructure monitoring, and environmental protection. Nigeria already has world-class drone innovation. Companies such as Terra Industries and Briech UAS, alongside Nigerian universities, engineers, and research institutions, could contribute to building a locally driven solution. 100 Drone Stations 300 Surveillance Drones Estimated Cost: ₦12 Billion (Illustrative estimate for discussion only) Federal Government — 40% State Governments — 25% Private Sector — 20% Nigerians & Diaspora — 10% Development Partners — 5% Would you support a Nigerian-built National Drone Shield? 👍 Pledge your support or share ideas to improve this proposal. Build Nigeria's First National Food Processing & Storage Network
Every year, Nigeria loses billions of naira worth of tomatoes, peppers, onions, fruits, vegetables, fish and other farm produce because we simply cannot preserve them after harvest. Farmers work hard, yet consumers still pay high prices because much of the food never reaches the market. What if Nigerians decided to build a nationwide network of modern food processing and cold storage centres instead? Imagine strategically located processing hubs across all the states in Nigeria where farmers can sell fresh produce, preserve it, process it into finished products and reduce waste dramatically. Instead of importing many processed foods, Nigeria could export tomato paste, fruit concentrates, dried vegetables, packaged spices, frozen foods and other value-added products produced locally. This is where government comes in. The Federal Government and state governments could provide land, roads, electricity connections, water supply, security and policy support. The private sector would design, build and operate the facilities professionally, while Nigerian citizens become early supporters of the vision. This Mock-Crowdfunding campaign is not collecting money today. Instead, we are measuring whether Nigerians believe such a project deserves to happen. Imagine a long-term target like this: 37 modern food processing parks nationwide Cold-chain logistics connecting farming communities Thousands of direct jobs Hundreds of thousands of indirect jobs Reduced food waste More stable food prices Increased agricultural exports Higher incomes for Nigerian farmers If this proposal eventually becomes reality, investors could potentially earn returns from processing fees, warehouse rentals, logistics services, exports and equity in the operating companies, while government benefits from increased tax revenue, employment and food security. Would You Pledge? If this project were professionally structured with transparent governance and government support, how much would you be willing to pledge if it later moved into a legally regulated fundraising stage? Comment below: Your pledge amount (₦10,000? ₦50,000? ₦500,000? More?) Which state should host the first processing park? What crops should receive priority? What role should government play to ensure accountability? Every pledge and every comment helps measure whether Nigerians are ready to invest in solving one of our biggest agricultural challenges. Remember:This is a Mock-crowdfunding campaign. No money is being collected. We are testing public interest and gathering ideas that could shape a future investment opportunity.

Lagos Clean Rewards Network (LCRN)
Turn Waste Into Wealth. Keep Lagos Clean. Lagos generates thousands of tonnes of waste every day, yet much of it still ends up blocking drains, polluting waterways, and creating health hazards. Instead of seeing waste as a problem, why not turn it into an economic opportunity? The Lagos Clean Rewards Network (LCRN) proposes a privately operated network of Smart Recycling Hubs across Lagos where residents are rewarded for disposing of waste responsibly while investors build profitable recycling businesses. How It Works Every household separates its waste into two categories. Recyclables: Plastic bottles Aluminium cans Glass Paper and cartons Scrap metal Electronic waste Used cooking oil Residents take these items to the nearest Smart Recycling Hub, where they are weighed digitally and credited instantly to their 'Clean Lagos Wallet' on their mobile phone. Rewards could include: Cash BRT bus tickets Electricity token credits Mobile data Shopping vouchers Approved property tax rebates or other government-backed incentives. Waste stops being rubbish and starts becoming a household asset. Biodegradable Waste: Food waste, leaves, fruit peels and other biodegradable materials are neatly packaged and dropped off at the same hub. Government sanitation services collect these every day or every two days for composting, waste-to-energy projects or proper disposal, allowing private operators to focus on profitable recycling. A Business That Pays for Itself Private investors establish and operate the Smart Recycling Hubs, earning revenue from the sale of plastics, metals, paper, glass, electronic waste and other recyclable materials to manufacturers. Illustrative Pilot Initial Investment: ₦10 Billion Smart Recycling Hubs: 100 Collection Vehicles: 50 Direct Jobs: 2,000+ Indirect Jobs: 5,000+ These figures are illustrative and would require detailed feasibility studies before implementation. Why Lagos Should Support This: Cleaner streets and neighbourhoods Reduced flooding caused by blocked drainage Thousands of new green jobs Extra income and everyday rewards for residents A stronger recycling industry A cleaner Lagos driven by private enterprise, with government focused on biodegradable waste collection and environmental regulation. This is a Mock-Crowdfunding campaign. No money is being raised. We are simply measuring whether Lagos residents, businesses and investors believe this vision deserves serious consideration. Cleaner Lagos. Rewarded Residents. Private Sector Powered. How much can you part with to see this Idea become a reality? Do you have other suggestions on how it can be implemented? Make your pledge and comment below.

Anambra Urban Transformation Fund
What if Ndi Anambra came together to raise Funding to transform our cities while building a profitable manufacturing business? The proposal is simple: raise ₦40 billion, invest ₦5 billion to establish a modern Stone-Coated Roofing Factory within the Ogidi–Ogbaru industrial corridor, strategically located close to Onitsha's massive building materials market, major transport routes, and the ceramic-grade clay deposits found around Enugwu-Ukwu, Enugwu-Agidi and Mbaukwu, providing a strong local foundation for building-material production. The remaining ₦35 billion will establish the Anambra Property Renewal Fund. Through designated partner banks, landlords in Fegge and Woliwo, Onitsha will have access to fast, low-interest loans (5% per annum, repayable over five years) to replace old rusty roofs with premium stone-coated roofing and, where necessary, improve their building facades. Their buildings serve as the collateral, making the loan process simple, secure and efficient. After successfully transforming Fegge and Woliwo, the programme will expand to Awada, Obosi, Nnewi and eventually other towns across Anambra. This is not a donation. It is an investment in manufacturing, real estate renewal and urban transformation. Investors benefit from two potential income streams: returns from the roofing factory and interest earned through the Property Renewal Fund, while Anambra benefits from new jobs, increased property values, cleaner neighbourhoods and a stronger local economy. If this were a real investment opportunity, how much would you be willing to pledge or invest to help bring the 'Anambra Urban Transformation Fund' to life? Would it be ₦100,000? ₦500,000? ₦1 million? ₦5 million? ₦10 million or more? Drop your pledge in the comments. This is a MOCK CROWDFUNDING exercise to gauge public interest and demonstrate what is possible when Ndi Anambra invest in a shared vision. Can we, as Ndi Anambra, raise ₦40 billion to transform our skyline and build an enduring legacy?

If Trust Was No Longer the Problem, What Would You Be Willing to Commit?
One of the greatest challenges facing Nigeria today is not a lack of ideas. It is not even a lack of resources. More often than not, it is a lack of trust. Many Nigerians are willing to support meaningful projects, but they hesitate because they are unsure whether their contribution will be managed with integrity, transparency and accountability. So let's imagine a different Nigeria. Imagine there is a major national development project with independent oversight, transparent reporting, professional management and clear public accountability. A project you genuinely believe would improve the lives of millions of Nigerians. It could be electricity. It could be modern hospitals. It could be rail transport. It could be security technology. It could be affordable housing. It could be clean water. It could be agriculture. It could be education. The question is simple. If you truly believed in the project, how much would you be willing to commit? Would it be... • ₦1,000? • ₦5,000? • ₦10,000? • ₦50,000? • ₦100,000? • ₦500,000? • More? Now, don't stop at the amount. Tell us why you chose that figure. What would convince you that a project deserves your support? What safeguards would you expect to see? What would make you say, "Yes, this is worth backing." This is not a fundraising campaign. No money is being collected. This is a Jeekota Mock-Crowdfunding Discussion—a space for Nigerians to openly express the level of support they would be prepared to give to ideas they believe can move our country forward. Type your pledge amount in the comments and tell us your reasons. Let's discover not only what Nigerians want to build, but also what it will take to rebuild trust. Sometimes, the most valuable investment begins with an honest conversation.

ANAMBRA STATE RAILWAY TRANSPORT INFRASTRUCTURE (ANAMBRA METRO)
What if the people of Anambra could one day co-own the ANAMBRA METRO? For decades, governments have shouldered the responsibility of building major infrastructure alone. But what if there was another way? Imagine an ANAMBRA METRO connecting Onitsha, Nnewi, Ekwulobia, and Awka—not just as a government project, but as a vision that could one day be backed by the people it serves. Imagine Anambra citizens, Ndi Igbo across the South East, Nigerians everywhere, and friends of Nigeria around the world expressing interest in becoming future stakeholders alongside the Anambra State Government, should such a model ever be pursued. Before any project of this scale can be discussed, one important question must be answered: Would enough people support the vision? That is why this campaign is on Jeekota. This is Mock-Crowdfunding—a public interest exercise. It is not a fundraising campaign and not an investment offer. It simply allows people to pledge support for an idea so everyone can see whether there is sufficient public interest to justify exploring it further. The Grand Ethiopian Renaissance Dam (GERD) demonstrated how a bold national vision can inspire widespread public participation. While every project has its own unique path, it raises an interesting question: Could Anambra also inspire a broad coalition of citizens, the diaspora, businesses, and supporters to rally behind a transformative transportation vision? Imagine what a modern rail network could mean for our state: Faster movement of people and goods. Reduced traffic congestion. Increased property and business development around stations. New jobs and economic opportunities. Greater regional connectivity. A stronger, more competitive Anambra economy. If thousands—or even millions—of people indicate their support through Jeekota's Mock-Crowdfunding campaign, it would provide valuable evidence that this vision deserves serious discussion by policymakers, investors, infrastructure developers, financial institutions, and the Anambra State Government. This is where every great project begins—with a conversation, a shared vision, and evidence that people believe in it. If you believe ANAMBRA METRO is a vision worth exploring, add your pledge. Then share this campaign with every Anambra citizen, every Igbo community, every Nigerian, and everyone who believes Africa deserves world-class infrastructure. Let's discover whether the world is ready to stand behind the vision of ANAMBRA METRO.

Dedicated Solar Systems Importation & Distribution Network
Invest in Large-Scale Solar Energy Equipment Importation and Distribution Across Nigeria. ₦120 Billion 16% – 24% annually 5 Years ₦100,000 Pledge Every day, millions of Nigerians spend money trying to solve electricity challenges. Households purchase generators. Businesses spend heavily on diesel and petrol. Schools, hospitals, churches and commercial facilities invest in backup power solutions. Yet demand for reliable energy continues to grow. The demand is not hypothetical. The customers already exist. The spending already exists. This proposal seeks to establish a large-scale solar equipment importation, warehousing and distribution business serving residential, commercial and industrial customers across Nigeria. The objective is to build a reliable supply chain for high-quality solar panels, inverters, batteries, mounting systems and related equipment while reducing the cost and availability challenges that currently limit adoption. Participating installers, distributors and end-users would gain access to dependable inventory, competitive pricing and financing opportunities that make solar adoption easier and more affordable. Revenue would come from: • Importation and wholesale distribution of solar equipment. • Retail sales through approved distribution partners. • Commercial and industrial solar project supply contracts. • Installer partnership programmes. • Equipment financing partnerships. • Battery replacement and upgrade sales. • Long-term maintenance and support services. Consider a single major city containing: • 50,000 households actively seeking alternative power solutions. • 5,000 small and medium-sized businesses spending heavily on generators and fuel. • Hundreds of schools, hospitals and commercial facilities requiring reliable electricity. If only a fraction of these customers adopt solar solutions, annual equipment demand can reach tens of billions of naira. Across multiple cities and states, the opportunity becomes substantial. Nigeria's electricity deficit continues to create one of the largest renewable energy markets in Africa. This campaign is not seeking donations. Its purpose is to determine whether investors, solar professionals, distributors, financial institutions and the public believe the opportunity is commercially viable before actual fundraising begins. Strong discussion validates assumptions. Strong pledges demonstrate market confidence. Together, they create early evidence that financial institutions can evaluate. If this campaign demonstrates sufficient traction, financial institutions may become central stakeholders in the next phase. Potential roles include: • Structuring the investment vehicle. • Providing import finance facilities. • Managing investor subscriptions. • Supporting inventory financing. • Acting as trustees and custodians. • Conducting technical and financial due diligence. • Syndicating opportunities to institutional investors. • Supporting nationwide expansion. In other words, successful mock-crowdfunding campaigns do not replace financial institutions. They create opportunities for financial institutions. We would like to hear from solar installers, distributors, manufacturers, bankers, investors, regulators and energy professionals. Which solar products experience the greatest supply shortages? What financing structures would accelerate adoption? What return structure would institutional investors prefer? Should the business focus on residential customers, commercial clients or industrial users first? What risks concern you most? What level of market traction would encourage financial institutions to participate? If your organisation participated, what role would you want to play? Make a pledge if you would invest. Join the discussion if you have expertise. Challenge the assumptions if you disagree. A successful mock-crowdfunding campaign should not end with a pledge total. It should end with investors, banks, solar professionals, distributors and communities sitting around the same table asking one question: "How do we make affordable, reliable solar energy accessible to every Nigerian?"
